Look out – flying baby!
0After all my talk this week about some of my little visitors finishing their time in Joey Club, it was especially nice to welcome along a new member, right at the start of his journey. We had taken quite a lot of photographs during the session and the little man was nearing the end of his patience but we were keen to get some shots of the boys together – luckily Dad had the idea of playing ‘baby aeroplanes’ and that kept him (well both of them!) very happy and produced I think my favourite shot of the whole session. I think lifting him up in the air like that will probably be a little harder to do when he comes back to see me in a few months time but I look forward to finding out …Sarah
‘Joey Club’ Free Baby Photography
0It has been a week for ‘endings’ as this young man finished his last session under the Joey Club scheme this week as well as another of my little visitors. Still I’m sure he’ll be back and posing in the studio before too many years have passed and I look forward to seeing him. When you sign up to Joey Club, you get three free sessions during your baby’s first year plus a free digital image from each session. Obviously we hope you love all your images and that you want to buy more but there is no hard sell or ‘complimentary viewing’ – all your images are proofed and bought by you online. Mums, Dads and siblings are welcome to join the session …Sarah
Happy Birthday!
0For those of you that don’t know, we run a scheme that we call Joey Club – www.babyphotographystudio.co.uk – you get three free studio portrait sessions during your baby’s first year plus a free digital image from each. This little fellow came to visit me at the studio last week for his third and final Joey Club session, on his very first birthday! (Actually he has been to us four times in total as his mum and dad had a maternity session with us a month or so before he came into the world but if you are still a ‘bump’ it probably doesn’t count) We had balloons and presents but the balloons were definitely the favourite. Even though he has finished with Joey Club, I look forward to seeing him and his big brother over the coming years, but I felt very honoured to be part of his first ‘big day!’
Fabulous Family!
0It was my pleasure to have this lovely family group in the studio again. The first time they’d been as part of a much larger group with the rest of their family in search of one of those elusive pictures that no-one ever seems to have where the whole family is actually together. That was a great session in itself, but it was really lovely to be able to focus on these guys as a smaller group and we had a great deal of fun (well I know I did!). They looked brilliant in their jeans and white tops – it is well worth the effort of co-ordinating everyone’s clothes when you come to a session for the results that you get in the finished photographs. They were up for all sorts of fun and games as the picture above shows, it was hard to pick a favourite from the session but I think this one just steals it for me …Sarah
Newborn Baby Photography
0I love newborn photography sessions, it is such a lovely experience to have someone so tiny in the studio for their first official photographs – they grow up so fas that even in a few short weeks they are different altogether. Obviously not everyone’s first thought when they’ve just had a baby is ‘get me to a photographer!’ but I honestly believe that it can give you pictures that you will treasure for a life time. The little one pictured above was just four weeks old and so was just the right size for getting cosy in our ‘baby pod’, next time I see her she’ll only be able to wear it as a hat! …Sarah
Portrait Sessions are Such Hard Work!
0We have had lots of young models in our portrait studio over the years, some have loved the ‘work’ and some have been not so keen. This little lady came to visit at the weekend and was just perfect although towards the end of the session, she did seem to find it all a bit too much! Well, no-one said it was going to be easy I guess

Cheeky Chappy!
0I had the pleasure of meeting this cheeky chappy last week, and I think you can tell by his face that he was a bit of a charmer! I hadn’t seen him since he was a tiny baby, and he’d done a lot of growing up. He brought his little brother along to the session with him this time whowas just four months old, so I look forward in a couple of years to see if that amount of charm is a genetic thing …Sarah
Proud Dad!
0Well I’m officially back to reality after my holiday and back into the studio. This, however, was a lovely baby portrait session to come back to – only four weeks old and despite all the challenges of having a newborn baby (you know, the lack of sleep, the constant checking, the worry that you’re doing everything right), you can see how proud his dad already is of him. Lots more sessions to edit now, should keep me out of mischief …Sarah
Family Portrait Photography
0
Well this little one came to visit the studio last weekend with her family and I have to admit I’ve had a few problems choosing which picture to put on here because I was in love with so many of them. In the end, I went for this one as I think the simplicity best shows off her gorgeous face but there were a number in the running for my favourite – including more than a few in her fairy princess dress. I have not forgotten that it was a family portrait session and there were of course lots of great ones with mum and dad in it too, but I think she stole the show a bit! …Sarah
Baby Makes Startling New Discovery During Portrait Session!
0During a recent studio portrait session, one of our baby models made a very important discovery – his own feet! Whilst we were all pleased and proud to witness this moment, it did mean that from that moment on, he was not be distracted by any tricks a photographer or parent could come up with. Ah well, the price of progress
